Black Friday always offers some of the biggest discounts of the year in everything from housewares to clothing. Often the most anticipated deals are in tech gadgets. But which ones are worth standing in line for and which ones should you pass on?

If you really want a laptop and can’t afford a high-end one, Black Friday always offers some deep discounts on bargain laptops. Walmart and Best Buy both show promising prices for this year. Walmart is offering a Compaq Presario 320GB Windows 7 for just $179. Best Buy’s laptop is an ASUS Windows 7. Both are good options for those who want to switch from a desktop or get a second computer for their kids.

As more people go mobile, portable devices are making everyone’s holiday wish list. Black Friday offers some great deals on lower price tablets, but don’t expect products like the iPhone 5 or Nexus 7 to drop their prices too low. You can find great deals on accessories though. Walmart is offering their Nook Color for $89 from the original price of $139. This can be a great deal for someone who doesn’t want to invest a lot of money into their first tablet.

You can also find great deals on televisions next week, but don’t worry if you can’t afford what you want right now. The weekend after Super Bowl also gives you another chance at record low prices.

With many Black Friday ads online even before the holiday, you can plan where you want to shop by who has the best deal. Just remember, these quantities are limited and you may not get what you want unless you are there before the sale starts. Even if you can’t get the exact price for the perfect item on Black Friday, chances are pretty good that there will be another sale before Christmas.
