The holidays are always fun because game companies seem to like spreading some cheer around. Earlier this week, I had a blast looking at Halfbrick’s games for iOS devices as the studio decided to have a zero dollar holiday treat. I am sure that some other development studios will be doing something similar – if they haven’t already.

Disney Mobile

Monster Inc. Run

And if Disney Mobile games get you going, you will be glad to know that they are gearing up for the holidays as well. Since 2000, when Disney first entered the mobile market content in Japan, the group has been churning out hit after hit. This year alone, they have had five number 1 apps in the iTunes app store, and perhaps to celebrate and say thank you, they are releasing new titles.

First up, they have launched Monsters Inc. Run, a version of Mega Run with a touch of additional cuteness. Remember Temple Run: Brave? The mashup is similar to that concept. This time, though, players can enjoy the likes of Sully and Boo! You can get Monsters Inc. Run for $0.99. First, here’s the trailer.

Then there’s Nemo’s Reef, which I am particularly looking forward to, if only because I can’t get enough of Finding Nemo. The concept behind the game is to build a reef. That involves beautifying your reef and collecting different kinds of pretty fish. I can already imagine hours of relaxed gaming thanks to Disney.

Last, but not the least, is Where’s My Holiday?, which is a spin off of the already popular game, Where’s My Water? featuring typical Disney characters Swampy and Perry.

Nemo’s Reef and Where’s My Holiday will be available on December 20 for both Android and iOS.

If you’re looking to gift Android or iOS games to kids (or kids at heart) this Christmas, these three are good options.

Updates to existing games

That’s not all, though. If you already have existing Disney Mobile games such as Where’s My Perry?, Temple Run: Brave, and Wreck-It-Ralph, watch out for updates.
