Photos that have been leaked to the public show a model that is very close in design to the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. It features curved sides with a front-facing camera. It also has a home button for convenience like the Galaxy S III.

Specs have also been reported but not verified by Samsung or other reliable sources. However, if it is true, the new tablet will have a screen ration of 16:9 with a resolution of 1,280 x 800 for amazing viewing of movies or videos. The 5-megapixel camera on the rear of the tablet would provide high-quality photos. This new tablet is also supposed to feature 2 GB of RAM.

Other features that have been rumored include the option of either 16GB or 32GB for storage and a 1.6GHz quad-core Exynos processor. Rumors also say that the device will run on Android 4.2 or Jelly Bean with possibilities of a USB 2.0 and Bluetooth 4.0.

Will Samsung Compete With the Apple iPad Mini?

While Samsung has risen to the top in the smartphone industry, it has not fared as well with tablets. The products have not generated the buzz that the phones have from reviewers and users. Will the Note 8 change things for Samsung in the tablet department? Right now, Samsung products are hot, so if anyone can take on Apple in tablets, it just might be this company.
