When Microsoft released the Surface Pro obviously it hoped that it would do well but unfortunately it didn’t create the anticipated stir of excitement amongst consumers. So with the revealing of the new Surface Pro 2, can Microsoft deliver a more appealing device?

Well new features suggest that Microsoft have at least listened to the feedback and complaints from users. The Surface Pro 2 promises a 75 percent improvement on battery life, which is an incredible step-up that now means the device is better suited to heavy usage for a full day, rather than the battery conserving short-time usage that could be had with its predecessor.

What makes this possible is the device’s added power cover, which adds 2.4-times the battery life. It is also helped by the addition of Intel’s Haswell processor.

The Surface Pro’s kickstand, something which Microsoft were keen to show off with the release of the first generation Surface Pro, will also receive a small modification that will allow it to be adjusted into two different positions.

Microsoft also revealed that the tablet will get an updated docking station, which will have four USB ports, as well as audio in and out ports, an Ethernet port and a mini Display port.

The Surface Pro 2 will come with the hard drive configuration options of 64GB and 128GB.

One of these new tablets will set you back $899 and will be available for pre-order from September 24. Initially they will be available in the U.S., Canada, Australia, China and parts of Europe from October 22.
